We would rather die in the prison of our own making than learn to live free in the wilderness.

We block life’s attempts to enter our bubble for we fear abandonment. This fear is well-founded, for growth will sweep us out of the deadened prison of our sick reality and into the temporary torture of freedom. So instead of surrendering to life’s impulse to heal and change us, we reinforce our defences through addiction, denial, and an increased allegiance to work . We remain wedded to the lies of the group—not to truth. Our stifled energy ends up shunted into illness, physical or emotional. We would rather die in the prison of our own making than learn to live free in the wilderness.
